National survey to explore mental health of fitness sector workforce

Workforce State of Mind Survey

The fitness sector has devoted large amounts of energy to monitoring and highlighting their impact on mental and physical wellness. Little is said for the mental health of fitness professionals. The Workforce State of Mind Survey, now in its second year, will gather insight from the industry on how they have fared since 2011.

In 2021, the survey received responses from more than 1000 individuals and 80 employers. Currently, the survey is open to all those working in the fitness and active leisure sector and is live until mid-February 2022.

According to the results of the last survey, 53% of respondents had experienced a mental health issue in the previous 12 months. The co-founder of Workplace Mental Wealth and curator of the survey added:

“The 2022 survey will deliver even more value than last year because we will be able to compare year-on-year data. Last year was about understanding the landscape and creating a benchmark. This year is more about identifying trends and assessing areas for action, helping to build a picture of where employers are achieving and where there is more work to be done in the area of workforce mental health.”

Time is running out to make your voice heard, see here for information on how to take part in the survey.
